Read4Unity x Little Free Library Partnership
We’re proud to share the incredible momentum of Read 4 Unity x Little Free Library — and our exciting plans for what’s next!
Since starting our partnership in 2023, we have installed 52 Little Free Library Impact Libraries across Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, and New York in historically underserved “book desert” communities. These libraries are co-stewarded by 13 incredible nonprofit site partners, who maintain and promote the libraries right where children and families live, learn, and play.
📚 Impact so far:
6,000+ brand-new, culturally representative books distributed
3,000+ K–8 readers served, with many books by BIPOC authors
12+ community literacy events hosted to celebrate books, culture, and belonging
With strong roots and proven impact, we’re now expanding this model throughout South Georgia — a region deeply affected by poverty and limited access to books. In partnership with local governments, nonprofits (like the YMCA), schools, and volunteers, we’re bringing Little Free Libraries to everyday spaces like apartment complexes, childcare centers, and barbershops—making diverse books as easy to reach as the corner store.
📖 Our 2025 goal: Place 20 new libraries and distribute 2,000 diverse books in South Georgia communities by December 31, 2025.
🌟 These libraries are more than just boxes—they are community anchors that promote literacy, spark curiosity, and affirm identity.
